Safeguarding week was an opportunity for students to think more about how they can keep themselves safe inside and outside of school as well as be aware of the support available to them here at Woodside. Workshops and assemblies were facilitated by Safer London on topics such as internet safety and ‘healthy relationships’. PRS sessions were led by our very own PC Bell on crime, the law and gang affiliation and our Safe Talk and school nurses Jenny Baer and Suzanne Linton spoke to some year 9 classes about safer sex. Additionally activities were provided during tutorial to give classes time to discuss various themes relevant to the week.
This was the first time anything like this had been done at Woodside and it coincided well with Safer Internet day and LGBT History month.
The Safeguarding Team would like to thank all members of staff who supported and look forward to a bigger Safeguarding Week in 2018.
