Last week, nine AMA students from Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 were selected to take part in a special workshop in design and technology. Woodside was fortunate enough to have professional silversmith and designer, Angela Lebovic, visit and spend the morning teaching students about the skills and art that goes into the craft of metalwork. It was a privilege for students to learn from Angela, who has produced designs for huge companies such as Liberty of London and P&O ferries. Not only were the students able to learn from Angela’s designs, but they were also given the opportunity to apply their knowledge and actually make their own design. Students had a wonderful morning and clearly learnt a great deal. It was very impressive to see students putting their new skills to practice and creating a range of different designs. The experience has given students an invaluable insight into the industry and inspired them to take their skills further. Well done to Firat, 7Q, Jabiah, 7L, Lyncharnti, 8I, Georgie, 9T, Maryam, 9T, Andeta, 9U, Maria, 10L, Eray, 10I and Tashaun, 10Q for their hard work!
