Inspiring Careers Day!
Woodside High school was delighted to host a very special aspiration event for Year 8 students this week. We were fortunate enough to have guests from a huge range of professions give up their afternoon to speak to students about their chosen career. The morning began with a fantastic panel discussion session that was chaired entirely by Year 8 students Ibtissam Ijouher, Jayen Mohammed, Patricia Ssonko and Rayan Lahmil. In the second half of the afternoon, students had the opportunity to talk to our guests in small groups and ask them all of their burning questions! A truly inspirational event, students thoroughly enjoyed being able to find out so much about such a wide range of industries. From learning more about working with naked mole rats, managing a football club, campaigning for political change to studying forensic science at college, our students had an amazing afternoon gaining invaluable insight into a diverse and exciting range of pathways.
This year’s event was the best yet with an incredible 33 guests giving up their time to work with our students. Students were so interested that they did not want the event to come to an end!
